The curious concept of "me"...?

A few days ago, I posted a question on my Instagram story asking my friends and followers what should my next blog be about. And many of them answered back with the same answer: Me. Well, this was a word that seemed to be famous among others, and I didn’t want to let go of an opportunity to explore this new and very curious concept of “me, myself, and I”.

So, what is the “me” that everyone seemed so obsessed with? Well, it seems it’s something that people refer to themselves as. But is it just physical, or is it mental, psychological, physiological, and all the other baggage that comes with being a part of this species? Looking at it now, are we the only species that refer to ourselves, or are there other animals, plants, and maybe even other beings who address themselves as “me”? Why do we even find the need to address ourselves? Is it for someone else to understand us, or is it for us to understand ourselves?

you me us

If we start talking about each person as an individual, I am not sure if there will ever be an end to our talk. Each person is so well crafted and weathered by the likes of time and society, that I very strongly believe that there are no two “me” same in the world. The “me” in you is an example that there is someone out there who has the “you” in them but not the "me" part of you. The concept of “me” and “you” can be such an extremely winding and unwinding tale, that words would fall apart by the time we start thinking of a way to quote the lines describing this.

As much as we love exploring the concept of "me," we also find ourselves seeking connections with others. Striking a balance between our individuality and our interconnectedness is a delicate dance. Embracing our uniqueness while fostering empathy and understanding for others is what turns the concept of “you” and “me” into something more amazing: “us”. See you next Monday!
