The one with the marathon
So, I tried something new this week, and it was pretty exciting (and tiring, to be honest). I went for my first-ever marathon, and the one I chose was hosted by an engineering college as a charity run where we ran 5 kilometers for a cause. We were informed to be at the starting point by 6 AM to start the marathon, and to honor and continue the legacy of Indians, we started the marathon at nearly half past 7.

Talking about my preparation for this, I’d love to inform you all that I actually ran for nearly two weeks prior and trained well to complete this. To say that I was nervous and excited during my training period would do an injustice to my energy levels during every single run. On some days, I’d be up and ready to go for an extra 2 kilometers whereas on some days, I would be struggling to finish my quota of 5 kilometers for the day. I would also love to continue telling this completely made-up story about my preparation and go on about how I went on to finish the marathon in record time, whereas, in reality, I practiced for a single day and went on to run the marathon in a nearly average time (I took around 35 mins). But that doesn’t mean that whatever I told above was completely a lie though… There were days when I didn’t feel like going for a run (read as most of the days), and on some days, I was all geared up to go for a 5k run (the day before my marathon (It was scary)).
Nonetheless, this experience was nothing but fun and giving. It was fun while it lasted, but giving me leg pain every day after. But that doesn’t mean I will stop with marathons here. I would love to go on another one but with prior practice this time. And even I don’t know when my next marathon will be, because knowing me, I am a guy who loves to experience stuff in a highly impulsive manner. See you next Monday!
Stay hydrated <3
