The thing about forgetting something

So, last week when I sat to write down a blog, I got a fantastic concept to write about. But I forgot it just a few seconds later because I forgot to write it down. And that’s when I decided, what if I “forget” to write a blog that week so that I have a topic to write a blog about the next week? And here it is, the blog you are reading is the blog I supposedly forgot to write and the one which has become content for the successor blog without even having to exist.

While forgetting something important may leave us frustrated and in search of excuses at times, it can also be a catalyst for creativity. Just like in the example of the forgotten blog concept, the mind's ability to lose track of information can inadvertently lead to new ideas and fresh perspectives. When we allow ourselves to forget, we create room for the subconscious mind to connect seemingly unrelated dots and generate innovative thoughts. The power of the mind is something so unique and well-spoken of, but never thought of in a few too many ways. In whichever way we try to think of something, we tend to forget that someone else in some corner of the world might have already thought of something similar, but forgotten it because of certain circumstances.

Forgetting can help us be more mindful and live in the present. When we stop dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, we can fully enjoy the present moment. Life happens in the "now", and being fully present lets us appreciate our experiences, build stronger bonds with others, find joy in the little things, and create memories which you will remember forever, that is if you don’t tend to forget them more often than not. See you next Monday!
